Woman, 21, arrested over stabbing of Labour MP
A Labour MP was recovering in hospital last night after being stabbed during his first constituency advice surgery since the general election. Stephen Timms, the MP for East Ham and a vice-chairman of the Labour Party, is thought to have been knifed twice in the stomach while meeting a female constituent at Beckton Globe community hall at 3.20pm yesterday. The woman reportedly became angry towards the end of her appointment. It is unknown why the woman wanted to see Mr Timms, 54, or if she had any particular complaint. David Cameron is the youngest Prime Minister
David Cameron has become Prime Minister after agreeing a deal with the Liberal Democrats to lead Britain’s first coalition government since the Second World War. Mr Cameron and his wife Samantha met the met the Queen at Buckingham Palace just after 8pm on Tuesday, where she invited him to form a minority government. Gordon Brown To Resign As Labour Leader
Gordon Brown has said he will step down as party leader as Nick Clegg asks for talks between Labour and the Liberal Democrats. In a statement outside Downing Street, Mr Brown said he had "no desire to stay in my position longer than needed" and would leave by the party conference in September. A Kenyan doctor accused of reneging on a €150,000 medical scholarship in Ireland has alleged that she was paid less than her colleagues and was threatened with deportation if she were to outstay the study programme. Ocampo targets three Kenyan suspects
NAIROBI, Kenya, May 8 - International Criminal Court Prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo has promised to finalise investigations into the post election violence in the next couple of months, and expects to indict two to three suspects by the end of this year. Mr Ocampo told a Press conference soon after arrival in Nairobi on Saturday morning that the bulk of investigations in two main cases will be conducted from scratch and go on for about six months.

A California Jury awarded a Kenyan man over $2.2 million in compensatory damages and of over $9.9 million in punitive damages against his former employer Alticor. Kenyan national held over sh100m fraud
A KENYAN man was on Wednesday morning arrested for allegedly transferring sh100m from Standard Chartered Bank in Kampala illegally.
According to the Police, John Musoti a.k.a. Walter Phillips Muhoma, was nabbed at the Garden City branch moments after the transaction.
Jinja Road police station chief Seiko Chemonges disclosed that Musoti, held in Kampala, went to the bank at about 11am in the company of two other men.
According to sources, the staff became suspicious of the men and alerted their security team. Musoti’s accomplices escaped as he was detained. ...read more

The Immigration Ministry maintains that it is justified to charge Wajir South politician Mahamud Muhumed Sirat with being in the country illegally even after two High Court judges declared that he is a Kenyan Citizen.
